Kathryn Snapka Named “Trial Lawyer Of The Year”
Famed Corpus Christi Lawyer Kathy Snapka, Honored For Her Many Accomplishments
TEX-ABOTA, the Texas Chapters of The American Board of Trial Advocates, honored Corpus native, Kathy Snapka with their 2021 “Trial Lawyer of the Year” award Saturday, October 30, 2021. The award is given to a practicing attorney who has been an excellent advocate of the 7th Amendment, who has had a distinguished career, and who has a superb reputation of high ethics and fair play, recent outstanding jury trial results, and who is of service to ABOTA and exemplifies its ideals.
Snapka received her B.B.A. from Texas A&M University and her J.D. from Baylor University of Law. After law school, she served as a briefing attorney for the Court of Civil Appeals for the Sixth Supreme Judicial District in Texarkana. She was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1981 and the New Mexico State Bar in 2019 and is licensed to practice before U.S. District Court, Southern, Northern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, and U.S. Court of Appeals, Fifth Circuit, Western District of Oklahoma and the Supreme Court of the United States.
“This is absolutely the highest honor I have received in my 41 years of practicing law, and, without a doubt, one of the finest organizations to which I have belonged”, said Snapka as she accepted her award. Snapka served as President of TEX-ABOTA in 2002.
Proudly watching were family members including her 98-year-old mother, Maxine Snapka, husband, Brian Charles and children Patricia Charles, John Charles, Sonya Charles, Matthew Charles Marykathryn Charles.
The event was held in Santa Fe, New Mexico, at the Inn & Spa at Loretto.
The American Board of Trial Advocates, (ABOTA) is comprised of experienced trial lawyers and judges who are dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the civil jury trial right provided by the Seventh Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
